Cypress Springs Panther Varsity fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 9-2 loss to Bridgeland on Tuesday. Bridgeland scored on a double by LIAM KOLECI, a wild pitch during MURPHY BROOKS’s at bat, a stolen base by KOLECI, and a triple by TAYLOR PHILLIPS in the second inning.
The Cypress Springs Panther Varsity struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Bridgeland, giving up nine runs.
Bridgeland fired up the offense in the second inning. Bridgeland scored one run when KOLECI doubled.
KYLE DICKEY got the win for Bridgeland. He surrendered two runs on six hits over seven innings, striking out seven.
Frank Foster took the loss for Cypress Springs Panther Varsity. He surrendered nine runs on eight hits over seven innings, striking out five.
Derek Salazar, Brandon Salazar, Bryce Crosby, Terry Burrel, Austin Brewer, and Foster all had one hit to lead Cypress Springs Panther Varsity.
CONNER WEIGMAN went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Bridgeland in hits. Bridgeland was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. CHRIS WATTINGER had the most chances in the field with eight.
