Cypress Springs Panther Varsity fell to Katy 4-3 on Thursday on the final play of the game. Katy was down 3-2 in the bottom of the seventh inning when an error scored two runs for Katy.
In the top of the sixth inning, Cypress Springs Panther Varsity tied things up at two. Bryce Crosby hit a solo homer.
David Hankins was on the pitcher’s mound for Katy. He lasted four innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out three.
Austin Brewer was on the mound for Cypress Springs Panther Varsity. He went six innings, allowing four runs on nine hits and striking out seven.
Cypress Springs Panther Varsity tallied one home run on the day. Crosby went yard in the sixth inning.
Brewer led Cypress Springs Panther Varsity with two hits in four at bats.
Katy saw the ball well today, racking up nine hits in the game. Alec Atkinson and Dwight Trevino all collected multiple hits for Katy. Atkinson went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Katy in hits. Katy tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Atkinson led the way with two.
